Ad: “Your $2,000 tariff rebate / tariff dividend is ready — click to claim.” H.R.7865 (American Consumer Tariff Rebate Act of 2026) was introduced Mar 9, 2026 and referred to House Ways and Means; latest action that day. Introduced is not enacted. No IRS/Treasury household tariff-rebate disbursement exists from that bill alone. FTC: the IRS will not text you about a tax rebate or refund (2022 alert; Jan 2026 alert). Unexpected refund/rebate texts are scams.

“File IRS Form 1098-SR to freeze/reduce property taxes”

Ad: “New IRS Form 1098-SR freezes senior property taxes / federal property tax relief.” Ventura County Assessor (Aug 20, 2026): fraudulent claims push a non-existent federal IRS form “1098-SR”; no such form exists; no federal law caps or freezes property taxes for seniors; property taxes are state/local. LA County Assessor warning Sep 3, 2026 makes the same point.

Ad: “SSA: verify your info or benefits will be suspended / SSN suspended — call this number.” SSA Protect Yourself from Scams: scammers threaten to suspend your Social Security number or account and pressure quick payment. SSA will never threaten arrest or legal action unless you immediately pay, and will never require gift cards, crypto, wire, or cash. SSA OIG (July 17, 2025): widespread scam texts warn about an SSN problem and demand a return call; SSA will never send a text asking for a return call to an unknown number. “Medicare Part D OOP cap refund — give bank info to activate”

Ad: “You’re owed a Part D refund / activate the $2,100 cap — provide banking to receive cash.” The Part D annual out-of-pocket threshold is a spending cap on covered drugs, not a cash rebate you “activate” by handing over bank details. Medicare.gov reporting fraud: Medicare will never call you to sell you anything or visit you at your home; do not give your Medicare Number or SSN except to your doctor or people who should have it. Hang up; use 1-800-MEDICARE / Medicare.gov.
